Lotions & Balms & Creams Oh My!

Summer is almost here-time to gather up all my heaviest creams and balms…

…and keep them very close by.  Yep.  You heard me right.  The temperatures are rising here in the South and still I can’t get enough of all my jars, tubes, tubs and bottles of greasy goodness!  Now it might be the forty-ahem, thirty-something in me embracing the art of *dewiness* with open arms, but honestly?  I just like feeling well-oiled!  (On most parts of my body).

This is what night stands are for amirite?

I’ve carved out enough space for a glass of water and my earplugs.  The rest is PRIME lotion real estate baby!  Okay, so I’m not greasing up my hair in bed, but anything that I can slather on my face, lips, neck, arms, hands, legs and feet is within arm’s reach.  I mean, who wouldn’t want to wake up in the morning to these beauties sitting by their side?  *sigh*

Lotions, creams and balms are great any day of the year!

A few notes on some of the lesser-known products:

By Terry-Baume de Rose//Smells like a dream (yup, roses). Not too sticky, not too slick. It’s French, so…
_____
Hanover Kern-Sorrento Lemon Balm//Anthro used to sell this brand but I think they’ve phased it out. There are a few of these hanging around out there and I’ll be really sad to see it go. It melts in your hand when you scoop it out!
_____
Golden Cup Balm-from Thailand//this is similar to Tiger Linament. Very herbal, great salve for muscle pain relief, headache, insect bites, or if you’re just in the mood for a stronger smelling salve. Don’t put it near your eye.
_____
Peace Be Still Calming Face and Body Lotion-Templespa//this is a lighter lotion that absorbs quickly. Smells kinda plant-y and mild. It’s the kind of lotion you want around when you don’t want any super specific smell, or a lasting oily feel.
_____

*If you didn’t know already that the Volcano scented candles by Capri Blue introduced a lotion a couple of years ago then don’t waste another minute missing out.  You can order it online at Anthropologie among other retailers.  YUM.

Do you have a favorite lotion or balm?  What do I need to add to my collection?
